This is Star ,the sire ,who is guarding his new litters.
A New Breed

White Shepherds are a newer breed and with many new breeds, there will always be skeptics. The whites have been around for less than one hundred years . There are many breeds that go back thousands of years. It is great to be part of something new.

Since our first White Shepherd Stella, ( whos mother was a beautiful tan shepherd), our dogs have been loyal, disease free, predictable, and honorable. With such a small gene pool, the whites are bred back to the original tan shepherds now and then. As expected of purebreds, of course there are weak links and problems that may surface in any litter in any breed, however with the genetic study done in 2000, the Whites have been proven to have about 1/2 of the genetic disorders found in regular tanned Purebred German Shepherds. In my opinion, this is only because the Whites are a recessive gene and have not been around long enough to create as many faults in the gene pool. There are beautiful tan German Shepherds, I know, I have had a few, but now that I have owned White Shepherds, there is no going back.
